Green School for a Hopeful Future

I am so hopeful for the future of American education, because more and more schools are becoming green. My building's principal is becoming more eco-friendly by instilling a recycling program within each classroom. We also now have a composting station out in the science garden. Students can even compost their garbage from lunch! Our principal has also decided to go paperless! All memos are done via email. Many teachers have taken on this approach as well, and are emailing parents instead of sending home letters. What a great way to teach the future of our country how to be green!

This post is part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you experience or witness something in 2009 that gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.
